I found a wonderful post at Penniless Parenting tonight about turning an old refrigerator into a solar cooker. I am trying hard to figure out how to link to it. I have an old compact refrigerator that does not work and I fully intend to try this. This meets almost all my goals in one sweet swoop! Keeps things out of the landfill, won't use more fossil fuels, no new manufacturing costs (or manufacturing waste), almost free. And...hers works!
